New patch. New catalog.
Content drop hits. List looks empty. Download the fresh V2. You are back in the drip.
Same-day drops
Do not expect a 2 GB pak to be mapped in an hour.
What you do
If cosmetics vanish, verify Fortnite and wait until the app lists new items.
How updates work
When Fortnite ships a patch, file layouts and item ids can change. Galaxy Swapper V2 needs fresh mappings for each build. Until a matching build is out, new items may be missing from the list and old swaps can fail. Check this page and Discord, then download the latest build.
After you update
Close Fortnite, open the new build, and make your swaps again. Old swaps do not carry over after Fortnite updates its files. If something looks wrong, run Verify and swap one item at a time.
New chapter. New drip.
Launch week is loud. If page 1 is missing, wait for the fresh V2 — then it is all there.
Wait on day one
Play vanilla until a swapper update exists. Forcing old maps onto new paks crashes.
New mannequins
Body types shift every few seasons. Old swaps can T-pose until retargeted.
Launch week plan
A new chapter usually brings a new map, new body types, and a large patch. Play with factory files for the first days. When a matching Galaxy Swapper V2 build appears, download it, close the game, and start with simple swaps such as a pickaxe before trying outfits.
Older outfits
Old outfits sometimes break on new mannequins until the mappings are updated. If a legacy skin T-poses after a chapter launch, revert it and try again after the next V2 build.
Pass skins, on your clock
Super styles are extra layers. Get the base body right, then map the shine.
Week one
Do not rage-reinstall because page 1 is missing from a two-day-old tool.
Super styles
Treat them as separate cosmetics. Map them after the base body works.
Crew skins
Same story: new chunk, new wait.
Timing
New Battle Pass items need fresh mappings, so they usually appear in Galaxy Swapper a short time after the season starts. Missing page-one items in the first days is normal. Check the Updates page before reinstalling anything.
Pass progress
A swap never changes your Battle Pass level, unlocks, or rewards. Those live on your Epic account. The swap only changes what your own client draws.
Super styles and bonus rewards
Late-pass super styles and bonus rewards usually arrive as extra layers on top of a base outfit. Map the base outfit first and confirm it in the locker, then add the style as its own swap. Trying everything at once makes it hard to tell which piece broke.
Galaxy Swapper notes
When Fortnite ships a content update, start here, then grab the matching Galaxy Swapper V2.
After a patch
If the locker list is empty, mappings are stale. Get the latest V2, then swap again.
New chapter
Launch week is noisy. Wait for a matching build before you force last season’s maps.
Battle Pass
New pass outfits land after the V2 that knows those paks — not at the trailer drop.
How to read these notes
Each note covers what changed in Fortnite, what that means for Galaxy Swapper, and what you should do: wait, update, or swap again. If a note says a build is not ready yet, play with factory files until it is.
Stay current
The fastest way to keep swaps working is to download the latest V2 after every Fortnite update and redo your swaps. Old builds do not know new item ids.
Every new build?
If the notes mention your season, you are good.
Same ZIP as last chapter?
If release notes did not change, you still have last chapter’s maps.
Does swapping grant the pass?
No. V-Bucks still live in the shop.
Where are the files?
Download stays on the Download page. These notes only say when to grab a new build.
