Swap in four moves

You do not need a lecture. Close Fortnite, download V2, pick a cosmetic, check the locker, drop in.

1 — Close Fortnite

Tray leftover still counts as open. Wait until it is gone.

2 — Open Galaxy Swapper

It finds your Fortnite folder. Custom drives are fine.

3 — Pick the flex

Choose the outfit, emote, or pickaxe you want to see. You still play as you.

4 — Lobby, then queue

Spin the mannequin. If it slaps, ready up.

The full routine, step by step

Close Fortnite completely, including the tray icon. Open Galaxy Swapper V2 and let it detect the Epic install. Pick the cosmetic you want to see, then pick an item you already own in the same slot as the source. Apply the swap, wait for the confirmation, and launch Fortnite again. Open the locker and spin the mannequin — that is the real test.

Choosing a good source item

The source item decides how the swap behaves. Match the type as closely as you can: outfit to outfit with a similar body, a looping emote to a looping emote, a dual pickaxe to a dual pickaxe. A close match means fewer missing hats, fewer frozen animations, and fewer crashes on the island.

Undo in one move

Want factory Fortnite back for a ranked night or a tournament? Open the Epic Games Launcher, go to Fortnite, choose Manage, and run Verify. The launcher restores the original files. When you want the look back, close the game and swap again.

V2 is a Windows app. Store Fortnite and Epic Fortnite live in different folders — pick the one you actually play.

Epic path

Usually Program Files\Epic Games\Fortnite. Custom libraries follow the drive you picked in Epic settings.

Microsoft Store Fortnite

If the locker list is empty, you launched Store Fortnite, not the Epic install Galaxy Swapper expects.

Custom drive

Moved Fortnite to D: or another disk? Point Galaxy Swapper at that folder once and you are set.

Finding the right folder

Open the Epic Games Launcher, go to Settings, and check where Fortnite is installed. That path is the one Galaxy Swapper needs. If you moved Fortnite to another drive, the old folder may still exist with leftover files, and pointing the app there makes it look broken.

Permissions and antivirus

Some antivirus tools block any app that writes into game folders. If a swap fails with an access error, make sure Fortnite is fully closed, then check whether your antivirus quarantined anything. Do not disable protection globally; add an exception only for the file you downloaded from this site.

If Fortnite runs, you are in

CPU is rarely the story. Close the game. Point at the real install. That is the spec list.

OS

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.

Game

Fortnite via Epic Games Launcher with finished paks. GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud have nothing to rewrite.

Disk

Do not aim the tool at a half-downloaded update.

What really matters

Galaxy Swapper is light. Any PC that runs Fortnite can run it. What matters is the setup: Windows 10 or 11 64-bit, Fortnite installed through the Epic Games Launcher, and a completed update. Cloud gaming and consoles do not store Fortnite files on your PC, so there is nothing to swap.

Disk space

The app itself is small, but Verify and Fortnite updates need free space on the drive where Fortnite lives. Keep a few gigabytes free so Epic can restore or update files without errors.

Hit the real Fortnite folder

Two Fortnite folders on disk is common. Swapping last year’s leftover looks like a broken app.

Settings → Installations

Epic shows the drive. Browse from there, not from memory.

Overlay

The overlay can keep a lock after you “quit”. Kill it from the tray.

Moving libraries

If you migrate Fortnite, retarget the swapper once.

Where to look

In the Epic Games Launcher, open Settings and scroll to the installation path, or open your Library, click the three dots on Fortnite, and choose Manage. That shows the folder Epic actually launches. Point Galaxy Swapper there.

Closing the launcher fully

Closing the Fortnite window is not always enough. The Epic overlay and launcher can keep files locked. Right-click the Epic icon in the tray and choose Exit before you swap.

Lobby is the mirror

Spin the mannequin. That is the test. Do not burn a ready-up to “see if it works harder”.

Missing hats usually means a socket did not ride along with the outfit.

Already queued?

Finish or leave. Mid-match pak experiments crash more than they “apply harder”.

Party view

Friends in your party still see your real locker. Do not argue with their screenshot.

A quick checklist

In the locker, rotate the mannequin all the way around. Look at the head, the back, and the hands. Switch to the emote tab and play one. Check the pickaxe preview. If all of that looks right, the swap is good. If anything is missing, fix it before you ready up, because a crash mid-match is a leave and a cooldown.

What your party sees

Your party lobby uses your real account data. Friends see your actual equipped items, not the swapped ones. That is expected — the swap only changes what your own client draws.

Do other players see it?

They see your real locker. You see the clip-worthy version. That is the product.

How do I undo?

Epic launcher → Fortnite → Manage → Verify. Factory look, instantly.

Windows 11?

Yes. Windows 10 too, as long as Fortnite still runs there.

Windows 10?

Yes if Fortnite still runs there.

Steam Fortnite?

Fortnite on PC is Epic. There is no Steam pak folder.

Epic vs Xbox app?

Different folders. Point Galaxy Swapper at the Epic Fortnite you actually launch.

Replay the swap?

Close Fortnite, run the app, launch again.
