When the locker sleeps

Nine times out of ten the game was still open or the folder was wrong. Fix those before you panic.

Get started

Still the old skin

Quit from the tray, confirm Paks, swap, then launch. Verify only if you want to undo.

Access denied

Wrong Fortnite folder or a copy still running in the tray. Close the game fully and retarget the install.

Crash on island

Bad mesh pair. Revert that cosmetic, verify, try a simpler outfit.

Empty list

Mappings do not know this Fortnite version yet.

Work through it in order

First, quit Fortnite and the Epic overlay from the tray. Second, check in Epic settings that the folder is right. Third, make sure your Galaxy Swapper V2 build matches the current Fortnite patch. Only then try the swap again. Running the same swap over and over without these checks does not change the result.

When to reset

If the game crashes after a swap, or you see leftover meshes from an old swap, run Verify in the Epic launcher. That restores the original files. Then make one swap at a time and test each one, so you know which item caused the problem.

Where the looks live

If you cannot find the Fortnite folder, you pointed the app at a screenshot. Browse from Epic settings.

Location

Under your Fortnite install, Content\Paks. Do not copy paks to Desktop “as backup” and then swap the copy.

Verify

Epic checksums those files. Verify = factory cosmetics.

Do not upload

Sharing paks is distributing game files you do not have rights to post.

Leave the files alone

Do not move, rename, or copy the files in the Paks folder by hand. Epic checks them, and a moved file can trigger a large re-download. Let Galaxy Swapper handle the swap and let the Epic launcher handle restoring.

Why ids change

Each patch can reshuffle which file holds which cosmetic. That is why the app resolves the right file for you instead of asking you to pick one. If an item is missing, wait for a V2 build that knows the new layout.

Factory reset for the locker

Verify is the undo. Not a fix for “it didn’t apply” — close the game and swap again for that.

Where

Epic launcher → Fortnite → three dots → Manage → Verify.

When

Crashes, leftover meshes, or you want a clean ranked night.

After

Wait for completion. Then, if you still want a swap, close the game and run the tool again.

What Verify does

Verify compares your Fortnite files with Epic's copies and replaces anything that differs. It removes all swaps at once and fixes most crashes caused by a bad pairing. It can take several minutes and may download data, so give it time to finish.

After Verify

When Verify finishes, your locker shows only the items you own. If you want a swap back, close Fortnite fully, open Galaxy Swapper V2, and apply the swap again.

Which pakchunk?

It changes every patch. Let the app resolve ids.

Can I verify a single pak?

The launcher verifies the install. It does not offer a cosmetic checkbox.
